Job Description: DB2 z/OS System Administrator or DB2 z/OS Database Administrator Expert will work on many aspect of DB2 z/OS infrastructure maintenance in complexed DB2 environments. System Administrator will be responsible for installation, maintenance, configuration, troubleshooting and setup of related DB2 software. System Administrator in this role will also be responsible for providing after hours and weekend on call support.The DBA will be responsible for: designing and recommending database activities, performing problem root cause analysis, solving various issues, troubleshooting, SQL tuning etc. DBA in this role will also be responsible for providing after hours and weekend on call support.

Technical Skills for DB2 System Administrator:
• Fully understands various aspects of DB2 z/OS database administration and maintenance
• Has strong DB2 z/OS System Administrator skills
• Has working knowledge of DB2 data sharing groups
• Provides DB2 infrastructure support
• Applies SMPE maintenance
• Customizes DB2 to meet customer needs
• Collaborates with infrastructure DBAs to ensure delivery of database components
• Monitors DB2's performance and anomalies
• Conducts root cause analysis to resolve problems
• Has knowledge of system performance tuning
• Able to analyze and solve production issues quickly and effectively

Technical skills for DB2 Database Administrator:
• Fully understands various aspects of DB2 z/OS database administration and has strong DB2 z/OS DBA skills
• Has working knowledge of DB2 data sharing groups
• Provide DB2 infrastructure support
• Works with application projects to manage and implement changes
• Collaborates with application DBAs to ensure delivery of database components
• Provides support with various backup/recovery scenarios
• Proficient in SQL tuning
• Conduct root cause analysis to resolve problems
• Able to analyze and solve production issues quickly and effectively

Good to have
• Hands on experience with BMC tools
• Hands on experience with IIDR replication

Responsibilities
• Provide technical support for customer. Own and action requests for service, implementing changes and resolving assigned problems (may involve some after hours and weekend work).
• Provide 24x7 after hours on-call support as required for products supported by the team
• Personal compliance and ownership on security, audit and systems integrity posture
• Highlight areas for improvement in current processes, and implement improvements Leadership
• Attend and actively participate in weekly review meetings with the team leader and/or manager to discuss issues, concerns, people, ideas and workload
• Be a focal point in a technical and client advocate capacity and whenever rotated onto new accounts, ensure other team members are mentored to enable smooth succession of previous account
• Assist wider team performing advance tasks

Required Skills
• Candidate must have excellent written and verbal skills
• Ability to take the lead in problem solving and coordination of multi-disciplinary groups
• Candidate should be self-organized, eager to learn with strong sense of analysis & troubleshooting skills person
. • This is a technical role which also requires strong analytical and problem solving skills. Experience in support and deployment with DB2 z/OS database is required.
