The IBM Client Innovation Center in Baton Rouge has immediate opportunities for a Data Analyst Mapper with a DataStage competency in our Business Analytics & Strategy group. In this role, you will develop the ETL code necessary to translate the data mapping documentation into input files that load into the Master Data Management (MDM) data repository and perform data profiling tasks.
Responsibilities:
- Preparation of the mapping spreadsheet; populating the spreadsheet with the MDM entities and attributes; mapping source system attributes provided by the source system and data owners
- Facilitate and drive mapping sessions with source system and data owners.
- Document transform statements and rules based on mapping sessions with source system owners
- Primary mapper responsible for the content of the source to target mapping and the communication with the source system owners and SMEs.
- Primary mapper for communicating and applying MDM knowledge and best practices to the mapping process.
- Responsible for capturing and communicating the necessary extensions and additions to the MDM model and transform rules to the lead developers on the ETL team
- Drives to resolution all outstanding action items and mapping queries
- Communicates mapping updates to team lead and lead developers
- Confirming mappings and responding to questions from ETL team during specification design and coding.
- Respond to questions on mapping and assist ETL team and testers during unit testing and system integration testing.
- Maps data attributes from existing Client sources to the MDM data model and identifies gaps between MDM Data Model and required Client attributes
− Define the Micro Design Documentation for solution ETL components
− Build and unit test ETL components required to complete an initial Load to MDM repositories from Client source systems.
− Build and unit test ETL components necessary to complete ongoing daily / weekly delta loads to MDM repositories from Client source systems.
− Resolve ETL related defects as a result of test execution.

The IBM Client Innovation Center is an in-bound delivery model where we support our clients from our Baton Rouge, LA center. However, some travel is expected and all candidates must be willing and able to travel to meet our client needs across the US. Travel is typically related to knowledge transfer and training at the client site (Monday thru Friday). You are expected to travel a minimal 50% of the time. No remote opportunities exist.
Required Technical and Professional Expertise
- 5 years of hands-on implementation of Master Data Management (MDM)
solutions - 5 years of working experience with Extract, Transform & Load (ETL) tools and data staging techniques
- Experience working in large and complex projects
- 9 years of hands-on implementation of Master Data Management (MDM)
solutions - 7 years of working experience with Extract, Transform & Load (ETL) tools and data staging techniques
Required Education
Associate's Degree/College Diploma
Preferred Education
Bachelor's Degree
Travel Required
Up to 50% or 3 days a week (home on weekends - based on project requirements)
